A Treasure of Truth

Scripture References: Matthew 1:18-25

From Series: "Christmas Inside Out"

The Christmas story is well known and involves traditional icons such as angels, the virgin Mary, a stable, barn animals and shepherds in their fields at night. It is the story describing God’s humble entry into humanity though Jesus; Emmanuel (God with us). The broad stroke story is cherished deeply in our hearts and recalled every December, yet as we probe deeper we realize there are lessons within the story. For within this broad scope we learn of God’s sovereignty, the reliability of scripture, the sacrifice that love demands and the unconditional Lordship of Christ that is called for in following Him. We find these revelations in various repeated elements of the Christmas story; numerous dreams, prophecies, long distance journeys and critical decisions.
